In the newly-renovated Concourse B, explore over forty works of contemporary art and five site-specific installations that are as spirited and diverse as the city itself.
UAC and The City of Memphis chose Allie Mounce + Anthony Lee to create a mural for the new Memphis Sports and Event Center.
UAC and The City of Memphis, in partnership with Uplift Westwood Community Development Corporation, selected Tony Hawkins to create a mural that speaks to the pride of the community, engages neighborhood youth, and pays tribute to Westwood’s rich Black history while focusing on Westwood’s growth and development.
UAC partnered with the City of Memphis to commission Memphis-based artist Amanda Nalley to produce an exterior 3D wall-bound mural for the entrance of the new Frayser Library branch.
The Metal Museum designed a wall mural for the entrance to the Gaston Park Library, which consists of 3 tryptic style motifs that are inspired by the notable role models that are part of the community.
Master sculptor John Medwedeff created this swirling sculpture titled Willow to enliven the courtyard at Boyle Investment Company.
This dynamic work of art was inspired by the silhouette of an electric guitar, designed and fabricated by Christopher Fennell using recycled steel.
Whitehaven’s own, Lorenzo Scruggs, was honored to have the opportunity to create “a landmark in any community is a privilege, but one in your own area is a dream. The Y, the people of this community, and the local businesses are very important reasons why my interest is in this project.”
Hollywood + Vollintine
UAC and the City of Memphis in partnership with Palmershire Park residents and selection committee, commissioned artists Reanna Ruddick and Kendrick Pendleton to create a vibrant an inspiring mural that will serve as a wall of wisdom for the Hollywood+ Vollintine neighborhood.
On February 21 of 2025, Molly Gochman and Medical District Collaborative united to celebrate caregivers and the unveiling of the NEW Monuments to Motherhood sculptures installed in the Medical District Park.
Tylur French of Youngblood Studio aims to draw upon Cordova Library’s surrounding natural landscape as well as the historical role of flowers and light agriculture that helped play a fundamental role in the history of this community.
Artist Bruce Myers has worked closely with the Wolf River Conservancy and UAC to develop a project that can be used as a seated classroom just off one of the many trails along the Wolf River.
UAC and The City of Memphis, in partnership with The Time Is Now Douglass Redevelopment Corporation, selected Jamond Bullock + Eric Okdeh to fabricate a mural at Douglass Park. This mural speaks to the pride of the community, engages neighborhood youth, and pays tribute to Douglass’s rich Black history.
Kong Wee Pang & Jay Crum at the Renasant Convention Center
UAC along with the City of Memphis and the Renasant Convention Center Board of Commissioners produced an interior mural inside the convention center entrance from Parking Level 1. Kong Wee Pang and Jay Crum responded to a Call to Artists from the selection committee, with a focus on themes of the history of music made in and inspired by Memphis and explore the possibilities of Memphis as the city moves forward into our third century. Their mural shows an abstracted future cityscape of Memphis, with nods to the Mississippi River and the rich musical history of Memphis.
