Project Overview
Auditorium | Colonial Middle School
Local artists Mark and Megan Davey were commissioned to create a grand facade to the auditorium entrance at Colonial Middle School through Memphis City Schools' 'Percent for Art' program in 2010. Specializing in the trompe l'oeil technique whereby the finished painting is intended to 'fool the eye' with its realism, the Daveys worked for months to produce an inspiring sense of grandeur within the school, captivating the students, teachers, and parents with their expert ability to make the ordinary extraordinary.
