Project Overview

Railing | Colonial Middle School

A pitch perfect pairing of form and function, this project is a great example of how artists can make something magic out of the mundane.

Resident artists working with The Metal Museum were commissioned to produce a decorative railing along the mezzanine level of Colonial Middle School. Incorporating motifs representing the performing arts, it is a mixed media sculpture using steel and found objects such as actual musical instruments. A pitch-perfect pairing of form and function, this project is a great example of how artists can make something magic out of the mundane.
