Regional artist Jim Wallace wanted to reference the mighty Mississippi River through his metal gate at the Links at Riverside Drive. Wallace further references the flora of the delta area in the organic shapes and lines of his metalwork. The columns of the gates stand 21 feet tall and were fabricated from mild steel.

 

About the Artist

Jim Wallace

Jim Wallace is the former executive director of the Metal Museum. He has completed a series of public art projects in Memphis, including the Martin Luther King, Jr. Gates for the Links at Riverside Drive. The artist lives in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
