UrbanArt Commission (UAC) is excited to announce a unique collaboration with Meritan, Inc. for this year's Canvas for a Cause fundraiser. Through this partnership, we aim to benefit local artists and homebound seniors across the city by merging the power of art with the spirit of giving.

Rhavan Mitchell, MS, PML, Associate Vice President of HCBS Home and Community Based Services, and CaSondra Amos, Vice President of Home and Community Based Services & Employment Programs, recently visited UAC to discuss this meaningful initiative. During their interview, Rhavan shared heartfelt stories about the impact the Silver Bells program has on gift recipients. "Many of the seniors return hugs, letters, and tears of joy," she expressed. "For those who no longer have family or cannot leave their homes, receiving a gift shows them they are still thought of, and that means the world."

With Silver Bells, Meritan sponsors holiday gifts for homebound seniors, bringing joy and human connection during the holiday season. This year, UAC’s Canvas for a Cause allows art lovers and community members to sponsor a $25 canvas in honor of a senior, which will both provide holiday gifts and fund local artist programs.

This partnership highlights how art can serve as a bridge between generations, enriching the lives of both artists and seniors in need.
