project overview
Big Green Murals | Memphis-Shelby County Schools
Big Green commissioned Memphis-based artist Jay Crum to bring murals to learning gardens in six different Memphis-Shelby County Schools. Big Green is an organization that strives to engage outdoor classrooms that connect kids to real food, increase academic achievement, and drive community engagement through building learning gardens in schools around the country.
Crum completed murals in six Memphis-Shelby County Schools, including Richland Elementary, Campus School, and Shrine School. Each mural portrays fresh fruits and vegetables using vibrant colors and dynamic designs to draw in students to enjoy and learn from the garden.
