Midtown Kroger Mural | Midtown

Memphis artist Charlie Forrester created this mural to enliven the walls of the Kroger on Union Ave. The artist stated, "I wanted to create a mural that utilizes the vibrant life, legacy, and renewal of the Midtown Memphis area. I want to incorporate the beauty of the trees in the area as well as the family life that is so important to Midtown's growth as well as the foundation of what makes Kroger such a great local grocery store."

Charlie Forrester

Charlie Forrester is a Memphis, TN based, born and bred artist. There’s no place he’d rather be from. He houses the folk spirit of Mid-South regionalism, combining it with the echelons of high-brow excellence. He was created to create. Forrester’s got stories to tell, and he illustrates those tales that mythologize the human experience simply and striking—trying to nail down transcendence with a #2 pencil. He has produced numerous murals throughout Memphis, including works at multiple elementary schools, the University of Memphis, and local Memphis businesses.
