about the artist

Elisha Gold, MFA, is a Memphis-based artist who works primarily as a metal sculptor, creating dynamic and enduring works that resonate with their environment and community. With over twenty five years of experience, Elisha is drawn to the durability and longevity of metal, crafting pieces that inspire reflection and connection. His notable works include Beacon, a kinetic sculpture of fifty-one bicycle wheels transformed into windmills, located in front of Crosstown Concourse, and a striking ten feet tall steel gateway at the Memphis Botanic Garden, inspired by fiddlehead ferns and their symbolism of eternal life.

Elisha’s work often integrates figurative designs that encourage viewers to consider their relationships to the artwork, its scale, and their personal experiences. His latest commission, Greenlaw In Bloom, transforms the Tennessee Coneflower—a symbol of resilience and community—into a towering public artwork. Through vibrant colors, interactive poetry, and bold design, Elisha celebrates the spirit of Memphis and the beauty found in unexpected places.
