about the artist
My work focuses on the use of washi tape to reflect traits of people I know. Most of my work is my representation of people from my perspective who are mostly African American. The use of colorful tape is used to show movement throughout the piece, which is why it is on a white background. My pieces use tape to accentuate traits like skin, hair, and clothing to show the person’s personality or race.
