Born and raised in Shanghai, Pixy Liao is a multidisciplinary Chinese artist who experiments with the possibilities of portraiture and photography. She holds an MFA in Photography from the University of Memphis. Liao's photographic practice is defined by a bright, colorful palette and careful staging. Her works frequently involve the human figure, as seen in her Experimental Relationship series, which captured the artist with her boyfriend, Moro. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
