Scott Carter is a Memphis-based artist who received his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he was the first recipient of the Eldon Danhausen Fellowship for Sculpture. He is influenced by the experience of living amongst the mass-produced materials, spaces, and objects that are inherent in contemporary architecture and design. Carter's work manifests as immersive installations and interactive objects which facilitate subtle shifts in value, redefining utility in relation to everyday experiences.
