Things We See | Lester Community Center Mural | Binghampton
“The people of the Binghampton area that we have met have shown commitment and pride for their neighborhood and have welcomed us.”
Mark and Megan Davey's mural at Lester Community depicts scenes of everyday life in the Binghampton neighborhood and at Lester Community Center. The mural highlights bicycling on the nearby Shelby Farms Greenline and various activities that take place at the community center. Mark and Megan were able to forge meaningful relationships with members of the community through the development of their design. Of their experience completing this commission, Mark and Megan write, "the people of the Binghampton area that we have met have shown commitment and pride for their neighborhood and have welcomed us."
About the Artist
Davey Studios
Started in 1993, Davey Studios is a Tennessee-based company made of Mark & Megan Davey. They have been working together for many years creating art projects large & small. They are a family team, this year incorporating their oldest son, Grant, in the construction of this interactive tree exhibit at Riverwood Elementary.
For over twenty-five years, they have painted for clients all across the United States for a large variety of clients and can be found in several publications, award-winning portraits, and murals. Their love of art, people, and creating unique work is apparent in all they do—what brings them the most satisfaction is knowing they bring joy to many people. Their talents include murals, sculptures, signage, and paintings. Throughout their variety of work, Davey Studios creates art that is inspiring and uplifting.
