about the artist

Pam Cobb

As a native Memphian and graduate of Memphis City Schools, Cobb has been an active artist and teacher in Memphis, TN for most of her life. Cobb has also completed a previous public art project for the UrbanArt Commission, called Bookmarkers, for the Cordova Library. Other public art projects include an aluminum installation for the Exchange Club Family Center, as well as work for hotels, physicians' buildings, other corporate spaces, as well as residential spaces. Nature has consistently been a theme in her work, trees, and water. During her teaching career, Cobb gained inspiration from her students at Christian Brothers University and the University of Memphis, where she was an Assistant Professor of Art and art lecturer. Time spent on the Tennessee River and travel to various places have provided endless sources of the subject matter.
